What you'll need
  • Your usual terms: the owner
  • A customer's terms: the owner, or a manager with Money

Terms set the due date on each new invoice. Under When payment is due, choose:

  • A number of days after the invoice: 30 days from 15 October is 14 November.
  • At the end of the month: an invoice dated 15 October is due on 31 October.
  • A number of days after the month end: 30 days after the month end, for an invoice dated 15 October, is 30 November.
  1. Your usual terms are in Settings, Invoicing.
  2. One customer's are on Edit customer. Leave the days empty to use your usual terms.
  3. One invoice's are on the invoice's form, while it's new or a draft.

When you mark a customer as a business on their form, Invoice this customer is set to Once a month and you're asked for their terms. You can change both. Customers you already have stay as they are until you change them.

What happens next

The invoice's PDF, email and the customer's portal say it in plain words, such as Due at the end of the month. Overdue counts and reminders go by the date on the invoice. Invoices already made keep their due date.

If something goes wrong

  • The date looks wrong: check the invoice date. Month-end terms count from the end of that date's month, so an invoice dated 1 November and one dated 30 November are due on the same day.
  • “Enter a whole number of days from 0 to 90, or leave it empty.”: terms can be 0 to 90 days.
  • A phone with an older version of the app can't choose month-end terms. Update the app, or set them on the web.

Who can do this

The owner sets the usual terms. The owner, or a manager with Money, can set a customer's or an invoice's.
