Pause a customer, or mark them as left

Stop a customer's visits until a date, or for good when they leave.

Not a window cleaner? Where this guide says round, you'll see route. It works the same way. You can change the word in Settings, then Scheduling.

Before you start

Pausing stops visits until a date, then they start again by themselves. Marking a customer as Left stops their visits until you set them back to Active. Setting the status to Paused in Edit customer doesn't stop visits: use Pause visits for that.

Pause visits until a date

  1. Open the customer and choose Pause visits. On a phone it's under More. To pause one address only, open that property and choose Pause visits there.
  2. Choose Pause until: the first day visits can happen again.
  3. Add a Reason (optional), such as on holiday or building work, and choose Pause visits.

Mark a customer as left

  1. Open the customer and choose Edit customer.
  2. Set Status to Left. If you like, choose Why they left and add In their words (optional).
  3. Choose Save customer.

What happens next

  • Paused: planned visits before the date are taken off the rounds. Visits that are locked, started or done stay as they are. The customer shows Paused until the date, and visits start again by themselves on the day. Choose Resume now to start them sooner.
  • Left: the upcoming visits from their service plans are cancelled. One-off visits are left for you to cancel. What they owe stays owed. Set them back to Active and their visits start again.

If something goes wrong

  • “Choose the date visits start again.”: pick a date in Pause until.
  • “Choose a date after today.”: the date must be tomorrow or later.
  • “Choose a date within two years. For longer, mark the customer as left.”: set them to Left instead.
