How customers choose their notifications

What the portal's Notifications page lets customers turn on and off: phone notifications, visit texts and offers.

Before you start

Customers open Notifications from the account menu in the portal. It lists What we send you: We’re coming tomorrow, Your clean is done, Invoice ready, Payment failed and Receipts, and how each one comes.

These are the steps a customer follows to get notifications on their phone or computer.

  1. In the portal, open the account menu and choose Notifications.
  2. Under This device, choose Turn on notifications, then Allow when the browser asks.
  3. Under What we send you, turn each kind on or off.
  4. To stop visit texts, turn off Visit updates by text.

What happens next

With a switch on, that message comes as a notification instead of a text. If a notification can't be delivered, they get a text or an email instead. Invoices, failed payments and receipts always come by email too.

Your devices lists each phone or computer with notifications on, with Remove. On the customer's page in the admin, Customer portal shows how many devices have notifications on, and which kinds.

Offers and news are changed in their details, under Your details.

If something goes wrong

  • “Notifications are blocked”: they allow notifications for the site in their browser or phone settings, then come back.
  • On iPhone or iPad, notifications only work once the portal is on their home screen. See Add the portal to the home screen.
  • “This browser can’t show notifications. Try Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.”

Who can do this

Each customer, for their own account. The owner and managers can see what's turned on, on the customer's page.
