Before you start
Profit and loss uses the payments you've received and the expenses you've added. Add your expenses first, or the profit will look higher than it is.
- In Money, open Profit and loss.
- Under Period, choose This month, Last month or This year. This year starts on 1 January.
- Read Money in, Expenses, and Profit before wages, with Expenses by category below.
- To keep a copy, choose Export report for a CSV file.
How it's worked out
Money in is payments received in the period. Expenses are shown before VAT. Pay runs aren't taken off: wages count only if you add them as an expense. Ask your accountant before using it for tax.
Money's overview shows the same figure for this month, as Profit before wages this month.
If something goes wrong
- “The figures couldn't load. Check your connection and try again.”: refresh the page.
- It says Loss before wages: expenses were more than money in for the period.
Who can do this
The owner, managers with Can see money reports, tax and totals, and your accountant.
