Before you start
What visitors see: “There’s no website at this address”, or only your business name. Why: the address is spelt wrong, the address was changed, or the website is hidden.
- Open Website. Overview shows whether it's Live or Hidden, and its address.
- Copy the address from Overview and open it. Don't type it from memory.
- If it says Hidden, choose Publish website. Hidden websites show only your business name and that the website isn't available.
- Changed something? Choose Save and publish now (Save changes while the website is hidden), wait five minutes, then refresh the page. On a phone, close the tab and open it again.
- Using your own domain? Check Your own domain says Working. If it says Waiting for DNS, see Your own domain isn't working.
What happens next
Your website shows at its address. Search engines like Google can take a few weeks to find a new website. Once your own domain is Working, the Google Search Console panel on Domain shows how to tell Google about it.
If something goes wrong
- “Check the highlighted fields.”: your changes weren't saved. Fix the boxes marked in red, then save.
- Photos are missing from the gallery: only before and after photos of customers who agreed to marketing can show.
- An old address: if you changed your free address, the old one still sends visitors to the new one.
