Before you start
Search health is part of harulu Growth, and is being turned on business by business. If you can't see the Search health tab in Website yet, it isn't on for your business.
- Open Website, then Search health. It opens its own page under Growth.
- Read the searches your website showed up for, most seen first, with how many times it was seen, how many people clicked, and its average position. Position 1 is the top of the page.
- Work down the checklist. Each line is something Google looks for, and it updates when you fix it.
Where the numbers come from
We add your website to Google Search Console for you, using harulu's own Google account, and read Google's own figures for it once a day. We never search Google ourselves to check your ranking.
- The figures are about three days behind. That's how long Google takes.
- Google only lists searches where your site showed up. Very rare searches are left out, to protect the people searching.
- Your free address is added on its own. Once your own domain is Working, we add that too.
The checklist
- Page title: it should name your town and be short enough for Google to show in full.
- Your own words: change the starting headline and About text.
- Services: give each one a sentence or two.
- Areas: an area gets its own page when you add streets, postcode districts or a few lines about working there.
- Photos: we tell you when there are recent before and after photos from an area. Only photos of customers who agreed to website use count.
- Hidden photos: a gallery photo is hidden when its customer no longer agrees. Remove it or pick another.
- Google Business Profile: add its link in Website, Edit, so Google ties your site to your listing.
If something goes wrong
- No searches yet: a new site takes a few days to appear, and a quiet one may show few searches.
- “We're connecting your site to Google Search Console.”: this can take a day or two, longer for your own domain.
- “We couldn't connect your site to Google Search Console.”: contact us and we'll look into it.
