What you'll need
- Your logo as a PNG, JPG or WebP file
- In Settings, open Branding.
- Under Logo, choose your logo file. It uploads straight away, and we save a smaller copy as a PNG so it shows on invoices and emails.
- Under Colours, set the Primary colour and Accent colour: type a code like #18583A, or pick one. The Preview shows how they look. These are for your website and customer portal. Choose Save branding.
- Under Invoices and customer emails, choose a Colour for invoices, statements and emails, or None (black and white).
- Under Layout, choose Classic, Modern or Compact.
- Under Your words, add a Thank-you line and a Footer note if you like.
- Under What to show, turn PO number, Customer number and Visit date on each line on or off.
- Check the Preview, then choose Save design. Send me a test emails you a sample.
What happens next
The preview is a sample invoice to a made-up customer. Nothing changes until you choose Save design. The invoice number, dates, your business and customer details, and VAT details when you're VAT registered always show. Your bank details and payment terms are in Settings, Bank transfer.
We're turning this on business by business, so you may not see it yet: an invoice designer. Where it's on, Invoice design takes the place of Layout. Choose Design your invoice to arrange where your logo sits and what goes in each part, and save it under Your layouts. Statements keep the layout you chose before.
If something goes wrong
- “That logo didn't upload. Try a PNG or JPG.”: save the logo as a PNG or JPG and choose it again.
- “Use a colour like #18583A.”: type # and six letters or numbers.
- “You've made a lot of previews in the last hour. Try again later.”: wait a while, then change something to try again.
- “Your login has no email address to send the test to.”: add an email address to your own profile.
