Before you start
We're turning these on business by business, on every plan. They count visits to your harulu website and postcode checks on it, so your website needs to be live. The postcode part also needs postcode districts listed for your areas (see Your website).
See what your website brings in
- Open Enquiries in the Work part of the menu, then Leads.
- Next to Where enquiries came from, read Website visits (last 90 days). For each source it shows visits, enquiries, customers won and the value of the quotes they accepted.
- Below it, Most viewed pages lists the pages people open most.
A source is Google search, Facebook, a label from your own link such as utm_source=flyer (we know google, facebook, instagram, nextdoor, email, leaflet, flyer, qr, van and a few more; any other label shows as Other link label), Email for webmail, Other websites for sites we don't list, or Direct or unknown when someone typed your address in or their browser hid where they came from. A visit is someone arriving from somewhere else; moving between your own pages counts as a page view, not a new visit. Referral, Phone and Added by you have no visits, because those enquiries didn't come through your website.
See areas people asked about that you don't cover
- Open Website, then the areas you cover.
- Read Areas people asked about that you don't cover. Each line is a postcode district, such as CF14, with how many times someone checked it in the last 90 days and when they last did.
- To start covering one, choose Add to an area, pick the area, then save. It drops off the list.
What we keep, and what we don't
Only daily totals: the page, the website the visitor came from (its name only, such as google.com), a link label if there was one, and the postcode district. We keep no IP address, no cookie, no device details and no full postcode, and nothing is stored on the visitor's device. Search engines and other robots aren't counted, and nor are addresses that aren't a page on your website.
Counts are capped so nobody can push them up: one person's visits stop counting after 60 in an hour, and each person's postcode check counts once a day for each district.
If something goes wrong
- No visits yet: the count starts when it's turned on for your business. Earlier visits aren't counted.
- Fewer visits than you expected: some browsers hide where they came from, robots aren't counted, and very busy days are capped. Treat the numbers as a good guide, not an exact count.
- A visit that led to a phone call shows as an enquiry only if you add the lead yourself.
Who can do this
The owner and managers who can see and change customers. The value shows only to people who can see prices.
